If your school employs a newly-qualified teacher (or Early Career Teacher – ECT), you must register them with an Appropriate Body.
The Appropriate Body will provide independent quality assurance of the ECT’s two-year induction, and this will include checking that the ECT is receiving a programme of support and training based on the Early Career Framework.
Why you should choose Red Kite Teaching School Hub for your Appropriate Body:
As before, there is a charge to schools for the Appropriate Body service. Red Kite Appropriate Body has set a flat fee of £200 for the two-year induction (paid in yearly £100 increments) if your school is accessing the ECF full induction programme (through Red Kite or any ECF delivery partner). If your school chooses not to sign up for a full induction programme the AB costs will be higher because the AB has an added responsibility of assessing the fidelity of the provision.
If your school is using the core induction materials to provide a training programme for ECTs, the AB cost will be £500 per ECT, plus £300 per school for programme fidelity checks.
If your school is creating its own ECF development programme, the AB cost is £1,100 per ECT, plus £600 per school for programme fidelity checks.
ECT Manager (currently called NQT manager) is a paperless ECT management system used by many Appropriate Bodies, including Red Kite. It allows you to register your ECTs and submit assessments online.
It is very easy to use. Just follow the link, click on the ‘Register your School’ option and select your school from the drop-down list. You simply complete contact details for the NQT co-ordinator in school to receive your log in details.
If your school isn’t on the drop-down list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
