Red Kite Teaching School Hub

Teachers and school leaders across the region can access a comprehensive suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Red Kite Teaching School Hub, a unique collaboration of strategic partners from across North and West Yorkshire, is delivering a comprehensive NPQ and CPD programme in partnership with UCL.

There is one NPQ cohort each year, starting in autumn, with funded places strictly limited and allocated on a first-come basis. We encourage early applications to secure your place.

The programme represents the most widely recognised set of qualifications in the education sector for current and aspiring leaders. It is designed to fit in with the day-to-day realities of supporting teacher development and is structured to help teachers to integrate theory, practice and feedback, minimising time out of the classroom.

Leadership NPQs

Executive Leadership, Early Years Leadership, Headship, Senior Leadership and SENCO options
Minimal time commitments with a mix of online seminars after school and face to face conferences
No assessed school based project
Open book assessment week: one case study response
Flexible online learning over 18 months
Suitable for part time and full time colleagues

Red Kite Roundhay-32

Excellence in Reception Teaching Programme

Supporting teachers to deepen their expertise in child development and evidence-informed reception practice
Suitable for current reception teachers, teachers moving into a reception role, teachers who have completed their induction
Minimal time commitments with a blend of self-directed online study, face-to-face sessions, webinars and reflection activities
Takes two school terms to complete (minimum 20 hours)
Fully funded places are available for teachers working in most state-funded settings, including academies
