I have been very lucky to have taught Science to a wonderful array of students for twenty years in two different secondary schools.  There is nothing like the feeling when the group in front of you grow in confidence and knowledge and start to make connections about the living world around them. I have always been interested in development and so mentoring became a logical next step, developing the skills of trainee teachers (and also my own in the process).

I am the Biology Subject Leader for Red Kite Teacher Training, delivering Subject Knowledge Training days for ITT scientists on aspects such as pedagogy, delivering practical lessons, and school-based science focussed cognitive science. I am also an Early Career Leader for Red Kite Teacher Training and the Early Career Framework, focussing on the recruitment, training and retention of teachers early in their careers.
