NPQ in Leading Teacher Development

Who is it for?
Teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers in their school. They may have responsibilities for the development of all teachers across a school or specifically trainees or teachers who are early in
their career.

What will I learn?
You’ll develop the knowledge, skills and expertise to lead the development of teachers, including sequencing and structuring professional development and effective coaching and mentoring.

NPQ in Leading Literacy

NPQ in Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC)

Who is it for?

This qualification is for teachers and school leaders who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading behaviour and/or supporting pupil wellbeing in their school.

What will I learn?

You'll develop the knowledge, skills and expertise to lead effective approaches to behaviour, pupil wellbeing and a whole-school culture.

Who is it for?
Primary teachers and leaders with responsibility for leading maths across a key-stage or school, or those who want to have this responsibility. This course could be suitable if you’re a primary teacher and you’re already familiar with mastery approaches to teaching maths, but you want to improve your leadership skills in this area or a subject leader in a primary school which is already engaged in the Teaching for Mastery programme or similar programme.

What will I learn?

To develop a school culture with a positive attitude to maths. You’ll learn about how pupils learn, helping you to develop systems which support children to:

• overcome maths anxiety
• build resilience
• develop problem-solving strategies

You’ll learn how to create a culture of high expectations where teachers can:

• challenge and motivate pupils
• give pupils high quality feedback

You’ll learn how to design maths curriculums and develop leadership skills to help you introduce them. For example, you’ll learn how to:

• identify the maths knowledge that pupils need
• help pupils make connections between maths facts and concepts
• identify gaps in pupils’ knowledge and make changes accordingly
• plan curriculum changes so that teachers are supported

You’ll learn techniques to help you support maths teachers. For example, you may learn techniques to help them:

• plan lessons, for example sequencing lessons so that pupils can build their knowledge
• meet individual pupil needs, for example grouping pupils to provide tailored support
• manage their workload, for example sharing approaches to marking work
• understand and use consistent maths vocabulary

NPQ in Early Years Leadership

Who is it for?
Participants qualified to at least level 3 with a full and relevant qualification who are, or are aspiring to be, managers of Private, Voluntary and Independent nurseries, headteachers of school-based or maintained nurseries, or childminders with leadership responsibilities.

What will I learn?
You’ll develop expertise in the knowledge, skills and concepts for leading an Early Years setting. These include best practice around child development and additional and specialist educational needs, as well as culture, organisational management and partnerships you may make as the leader of an Early Years setting. Our content is informed by the best and most recent evidence and developed with input from serving leaders and subject matter experts.

Our programmes have a practical focus. You’ll be supported to make small but important changes to your and others’ practice throughout the programme. This will conclude with the implementation module and practical implementation cycle of the programme.
