RISE Universal Offer

Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE)

What is RISE?

The Government’s Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE) programme is a national initiative designed to support all schools to improve outcomes for every learner, regardless of background or context. Through RISE, the Department for Education is helping to break the link between a child’s background and their future success by:

  • promoting high-quality practice across all phases of education

  • encouraging collaboration between schools and leaders

  • supporting inclusive school environments where every child can thrive

  • sharing effective practice and driving improvement across the region.

RISE operates through a combination of targeted support for schools in need and a universal offer available to all schools, with teams of experienced RISE advisers working alongside local partners to deliver support and professional learning opportunities.
