Professional development designed specifically for secondary heads of maths

Programme Outline

This group will offer focused support to secondary heads of department and subject leaders, to enable them to develop in their role as leaders of both pupil learning and teacher professional development. The programme will also help participants better understand and implement teaching for mastery approaches across their department.

Sessions will follow a cycle of workshops followed by school-based tasks. Participants will support each other through the sharing of leadership strategies and practices. A vibrant professional learning community will be created through peer-to-peer discussions and expert input. Participants will also create an action plan for their department.

The programme is open to both heads of department in schools already involved with Maths Hubs and those who are not yet involved.

Dates & Venue

Sessions will take place at Harrogate Grammar School, (HG2 0DZ) and will run from 10am-4pm
